To kick off the new year we are going to look at 10 things that Headbox is really looking forward to in 2010. Some of them are big events, some of them are small events, some of them aren’t even events… nevertheless all of them have us drooling in anticipation.
In the grand scheme of things we are starting small with sombre-rave-pop-party piece Hot Chip!
2009 was a quiet year for the London quintet, finishing their world tour in February before hitting the studio to record their 4th album One Life Stand. In December the band released the first single from the album and announced that they will be hitting the road on another world tour kicking off in February 2010.
The latest single, also called One Life Stand is mellow by their normal standards however, the hypnotic beat will lodge itself in your brain and leave you wanting more. Whether the single is a sign of a new grown up album from the band or not we’ll have to wait until the album is released on Feb 1st. It’s always nice to see a band evolve and try new things however… Headbox hopes that they that don’t stray too far from their roots and whack some big party tracks on there as well!
It’s really difficult to imagine Hot Chip making a bad record, such is quality of their previous 3, and if they do pull off another great album they could well be the band of 2010.
