1. An unique hall space in East London: Glaziers Hall

London Bridge, London

Laying claim to being to only Livery Hall south of the Thames, Glazier's hall is spectacularly set against London's iconic river, granting sweeping views over both banks. The hall itself is actually a former dockland warehouse, tracing its construction back to the 19th century. This historical pedigree is reflected in the cavernous interior of the East London hall; high ceilings and larger light-letting windows are joined by up-to-date AV technology.

You can fit 300 guests in the venue's Banqueting Hall, with other, smaller spaces also being open to private hire.

Bonus points have to go to Glaziers Hall for placing sustainable meetings and events at the forefront of their venue: their commitment to local sourcing and responsible waste management has earned them a Green Tourism Gold Award.

2. A gold-standard East London hall: Goldsmith's Hall

St, Paul's, London

Another guild-associated hall, though this time relating to London's history of Goldsmiths.

Fittingly the hall does not hold back when it comes to aesthetic impressiveness. Walnut panelling features throughout the venue, with chandeliers, candelabras and polished glass being accented in - you guessed it - gold.

It's unapologetically opulent without violating the bounds of taste.

The Livery Hall, in particular, is worth checking out. It features corinthian columns of scagliola and beautifully decorated glasswork. With room for 300 or so guests, you can put a pretty big hall event in East London and be sure to impress. Just don't invite the Silversmiths.

3. An East London hall with an amazing history: Drapers' Hall

Bank, London

Spotting a theme yet?

Draper's hall is a vast hall space within walking distance of Bank tube station. The building itself has a richly storied past, one that weaves its way through iconic moments in Tudor England. Once part of an Augustinian Priory, the hall was brought by hand-wringing schemer-cum-Lord Great Chamberlain, Thomas Cromwell in the 1530s. After Cromwell became divorced from his head in 1540, the hall was sold to the Guild of Drapers in 1543. It remains in the guild's hands, with the Drapers' company itself transitioning from mercantile fellowship to a more philanthropic venture.

All this rich historical pedigree finds its way into every beautifully adorned alcove of the venue. Beautifully painted ceilings play out scenes from Shakespeare, whilst chandeliers and magnificent fireplaces set a scene of comfortable luxury for up to 700 guests. And yes, as you'd expect, the curtains are incredible.

Shoreditch, East London

Take the Assembly Hall, for example. Holding space for 770 attendees, this spectacular area is a great choice for all manner of hall events. They've seen everything from product launches, corporate dinners, live performances and much more. Despite the grand age of the venue, Shoreditch Town Hall boasts full production values, with professional lighting, projection capabilities and an integrated sound system ensuring the contemporary wow factor.
