Within the Town Hall Federation was debated, Nellie Melba debuted and the Beatles greeted adoring fans from the iconic balcony overlooking Swanston Street (today a much loved site for wedding ceremonies and cocktail parties).
Melbourne Town Hall offers a unique showcase destination for so many aspects of the city’s cultural, social and civic life. On any day, the venue will host theatrical performances, weddings, receptions, exhibitions, corporate launches, school concerts, conferences and cocktail parties.
There is a certain aura in the Yarra Room that one must experience to understand. Formerly the Council Chamber for the City of Melbourne, this gracious room imparts gravitas and dignity to any type of event. It features an in-house sound system and is in close proximity to a variety of break-out rooms. The Yarra Room embodies the character and historical integrity of the Melbourne Town Hall. This room can accommodate up to 150 guests.
