The Wild Rover

A local Surry Hills neighbourhood bar, the Wild Rover is a swashbuckling, foot-stomping, riotous escape from pomp. It’s designed as if it had always existed but has only recently been found. The Rover is an Irish folk barn crossed with New York chic set in an unassuming clothing house, hidden from street view. As you approach the Wild Rover's doors, an amber glow and the muted echo of boisterous banter spills out from the windows and onto the dark street, luring you in for a closer peak. The dimly-lit copper downstairs bar is ablaze in the flurry of familiar faces as stiff libations flow with ease. Pull up a seat and tuck into a very satisfying martini and some freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters to prime you for the night ahead. Or elevate Upstairs to indulge in our take on a British Seafood Bistro boasting a cold crustacean display, oysters shucked to order, beef tartare with uni or whole flathead served with Pil Pil and sauce Vierge.
