The M Pavilion is an architecturally designed space for groups to use as a base for the day.  This structure is located in Carousel Park so it's perfect for those groups with children.

Three of Melbourne Zoo's spaces that are available for hire are the Rainforest Room, Bong Su and Leopard Lodge.

The Rainforest Room is a location of pure beauty and is our most popular space.  With views over the award-winning Japanese Garden and Lake, the outside terrace is an ideal place to sample of glass of sparkling while savouring the tranquil surrounds. The inside of this light-filled venue features its own private animal exhibit – the lush forest habitat of the playful Tamarin monkeys.  Perfect for conferences, cocktail parties, seated lunches and dinners and wedding receptions, the Rainforest Room can accommodate up to 80 guests.

With a permanent dance floor for less formal occasions, The Rainforest Room contains a private bridal suite or green room. Cathedral ceilings and floor to ceiling windows invite an abundance of natural light, creating a soft ambience perfect for photography. This versatile venue can also be divided into two sections to cater to smaller gatherings or break out areas.

At the heart of the Elephant Trail lies the striking Bong Su Room. With its indoor and outdoor spaces, floor to ceiling windows, bold dark timber panelling, private views over an animal exhibit, and hidden location among the bamboo forest, the Bong Su Room is an experience.  The Bong Su is perfect for conferences, seated lunches and dinners, wedding receptions and birthday parties. It can accommodate up to 200 people.

Prior to arriving, you and your guests are lead on a voyage through the green bamboo forest that surrounds the elephant habitat. Once you have arrived, listen to the trumpet of elephants as you enjoy a pre-dinner drink or canapé outside or on the exclusive Mek Kapah terrace.

Situated close to both the big cat’s habitat and the beloved Carnivores’ Trail, the Leopard Lodge is the largest and most versatile of our function rooms. It can accommodate up to 375 people. Your guests can share a toast to the sound of lions roaring against a backdrop of some of the Zoo’s finest gardens and lawns.

The Leopard Lodge is conveniently located close to the trams and trains of the Railgate entrance. Here, greenery on all sides creates the sense of celebrating in the heart of a jungle, and a paved outdoor terrace allows your guests to spill into the landscape. A purpose built bridal suite or green room makes this a particularly fitting function space for wedding receptions. With its in-built screen and projector and AV capabilities, this space is also well suited for corporate events, conferencing and large seated dinner and cocktail parties looking to share special memories.
