Hinchcliff House, nestled at 5–7 Young Street in Sydney’s historic Circular Quay precinct, is a meticulously restored four-storey heritage building that originally served as a 19th-century woolstore. The venue beautifully retains its historic character with hand-cut sandstone and brick walls, exposed timber beams, and original structural elements, thoughtfully contrasted with modern touches like sleek black steel staircases and lift shafts. Atop the building sits a golden ram statue—an homage to its wool-trading origins. Each of the four levels delivers a distinct hospitality experience, from an open-kitchen eatery and elegant dining spaces to a moody underground bar and a flexible event floor, all set within a richly atmospheric heritage backdrop. Lana is Hinchcliff House’s elevated, yet relaxed, restaurant on the first floor. In a dining room where the music’s a touch louder and the lights a little lower, special attention is paid to making it feel as though nothing exists outside of the room.
