Parliament House

Located within Sydney's historic precinct, the Parliament House is a heritage-listed building that is rich in history and full of hidden surprises. The venue has unique event spaces that are available for hire. A large versatile dining room featuring panoramic garden views, the Strangers' Room is ideal for conferences, seminars, luncheons, award dinners and stand-up cocktail reception events. This space can accommodate up to 600 guests for stand-up cocktail event, 300 for a gala dinner or 160 for a conference. WHERE STRANGERS BECOME FRIENDS The Strangers’ Room is a meeting place where members of Parliament greet visiting dignitaries including consuls’ generals and members of the Royal family. Historically, these guests were referred to as ’strangers’, thus creating the saying ‘where strangers become friends’.
