Studio Amaro is the latest opening from the Commune team, a multi-level venue with a restaurant and a downstairs listening bar on the corner of Chapel Street. 

Paying homage to the legacy of Italian restaurants that have served Melbourne for decades, Studio Amaro is looking to channel familiar flavours with a concise menu of treasured dishes from regions all across Italy and an open kitchen where the magic happens with head chef Daniel Migliaccio at the helm. 

A completely new build, the forward-looking design of the exterior is a curved blend of concrete and glass. Walking in, make your way through the dining room with walnut-topped tables, timber panelling, and floor-to-ceiling crimson light. 

Head down into the basement of Amaro past the velvet curtains where you'll be met with the late-night listening bar—a dimly-lit speakeasy-esque space with rippled amber glass panels and chocolate leather. Vintage DJ decks were restored by mid-century specialist Angelucci, ready to spin Italian-disco tunes.

An exclusive hire of Studio Amaro includes the dining room which seats 100 while the buzzing basement bar, designed for a bit of a boogie and a bop, allows room for 60 more guests.

Since 2015 Tokyo Tina has been the 'go-to' for modern Japanese in Melbourne. Inspired by the diversity of Japanese cuisine and its sub-cultures, Tina has an identity that is all her own. The menu is creative without being confusing, and respectful but not bound by tradition.
