Framed in rich Tasmanian timber, the Derwent Room captures the warmth and character of our island, offering a contemporary yet uniquely local setting. At 483sqm, it provides a beautiful backdrop for a wide range of corporate events — from conferences and luncheons to cocktail receptions and gala dinners. Enhancing the versatility of the space, the Derwent Room opens onto an outdoor courtyard with capacity for 100 guests standing, as well as a light-filled glass pavilion that accommodates a further 80 guests standing. These adjoining spaces create the perfect flow for pre-function drinks, networking, or breakouts, seamlessly blending indoor sophistication with outdoor atmosphere. Catering is led by our in-house Executive Chef, Oliver Mellers, whose career has taken him from his family’s Hobart restaurants to Michelin-starred kitchens in London, including Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck. With expertise across French cuisine, butchery, seafood, and pastry, Oli crafts refined, memorable menus tailored to each event — delivering world-class dining right here at MyState Bank Arena.
