Transit Rooftop Bar is the shining gem atop the Transport Hotel building, accommodating up to 300 guests for any kind of cocktail style event or Wedding. The venue has a large indoor area and a partially covered balcony which makes it an all-weather venue. Transit has amazing views overlooking the Yarra River towards the MCG, Botanical Gardens and Arts Centre.

Food is catered for by canapes served by Taxi Kitchen and walked around by wandering wait staff. 
Beverages can be on consumption, or a beverage package can be arranged for you.

We have AV available to hire, including a microphone & PA system, TV Screen & in-house photobooth. For exclusive hire, we can assist with finding the right live music including bands and DJ’s for your event.

Groups that are looking to reserve a space for smaller numbers will be given a reserved area based on the guest count.

The Private Dining Room in Taxi Kitchen is a fully private space accommodating up to 32 seated, or 40 guests standing. This room offers stunning views, spanning from the Arts Centre, over the Yarra River, Alexandra Gardens to the MCG. The PDR is a perfect space for birthdays, corporate meetings, intimate weddings, family celebrations, and more. Adjacent to another event space called the River Room, the PDR can be expanded to create a cohesive space with the River Room if needed.

The Glasshouse is a sectioned off event space located away from the Main Bar, running adjacent to Swanston St and offers stunning views of Flinders Street and St Pauls Cathedral. It opens to an outdoor terrace and has its own dedicated bar.

This space is used for normal table dining, live music on the weekends and suits any group from 25-180pax. Depending on the size of your group, the space is roped off based on your numbers, or you can book the entire Glasshouse for approx. 200 guests standing.

The River Room in Taxi Kitchen accommodates up to 50 guests seated, or 70 standing. This space overlooks the Yarra River, Arts Centre and Alexandra Gardens with a semi-private view of the restaurant, encapsulating the atmosphere and stunning views, while remaining tucked away in your own private space. This space is adjacent to the Private Dining Room, connected by glass doors/curtains that can be removed to enlarge for a 80 seated, or 110 standing event space.

The River Room @ Taxi Kitchen 

Located in the heart of Melbourne’s Federation Square, the Transport Hotel is a prominent multi-level venue known for its modern architecture and vibrant atmosphere. The building itself is a striking structure with angular lines and a contemporary façade that blends seamlessly with the dynamic urban surroundings. Inside, the venue features a combination of industrial finishes—such as exposed concrete, steel accents, and terrazzo floors—balanced by expansive glass walls that allow natural light to flood the interiors and offer panoramic views of the Yarra River, Flinders Street Station, and the city skyline.

Their Private Dining Room and River Room are two separate spaces that seamlessly merge into one, by sliding glass doors and a curtain. These two event spaces open to create a large, semi-private space with restricted view of the restaurant, encapsulating the atmosphere and stunning views, while remaining tucked away in your own private space. This space accommodates up to 110 standing, or 80 seated.
