​Capella Sydney is a five-star luxury hotel located at 24 Loftus Street in Sydney’s central business district, just moments from iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and Circular Quay. Housed in the heritage-listed former Department of Education building—originally designed by government architect George McRae in the early 1900s—Capella Sydney underwent a meticulous seven-year restoration before reopening in March 2023. The hotel retains its striking Edwardian Baroque architecture, including a sandstone façade and elegant marble-clad vestibules. Brasserie 1930 presents a modern Australian dining experience, inspired by its rich history and location in the former Department of Agriculture building. In partnership with Executive Chef Brent Savage of the Bentley Group, the restaurant features exquisite small-batch produce, with a focus on Australian ingredients, elevated through traditional cooking techniques.
