The Salon is named after Paul Kruger, president of ‘Transvaal’ and leader of the Peasant Uprising in 1900. He arrived at Hotel Des Indes on December 7th 1900 and stayed for one month. He used the balcony of the Salon to address the locals. 

The Salon Paul Kruger has a lot of daylight and a beautiful view on the Lange Voorhout due to the floor to ceiling windows. As the Salon can only be accessed through the Ballroom or Salon van Brienen, it is only available to book in combination with one of the adjacent Salons.

The Rotunda is an unique location within the heart of the hotel. The venue is named Rotunda, as it is the location where you used to see the carriages circle in and out of the building. 
They would stop at the bottom of the staircase, which leads to the Ballroom where Baron van Brienen hosted his festivities and events. 

The characteristic dome brings light, together with 300 light bulbs. With its exceptional shape, the Rotunda is an unique location for your drink, reception or event.

Anyone that cruises through the lobby of Hotel Des Indes, will be transported to another era. 

The monumental entryway, which was the location where the horse-drawn carriages with visitors entered the building, exudes a rich history.

The opulent design of the Lounge / Restaurant, that is well suited to the prestige of this iconic hotel, is certainly chic while at the same time being quite warm and inviting. The marble columns, the chandelier and the sweeping stately staircases spin the tale of the 19th-century urban town palace of Baron Van Brienen, which would later transform into the luxurious Des Indes Hotel.

From the floor overlooking the foyer, nicknamed the Rotary, you have a wonderful view of the Lounge / Restaurant while leaning upon the balustrade. This is the location the baron used to greet his newly arrived guests.

In former days, the Ballroom was the main room of the hotel. Baron van Brienen hosted his festivities and events in this Salon. The original details have been preserved and are still visible in the room.

As largest Salon of Hotel des Indes, the Ballroom is very versatile and provides the perfect backdrop for any event ranging from wedding receptions to formal meetings. A magnificent Salon to impress your guests.

In former days, the Salon van Brienen was the private residence of Baron van Brienen. With old paintings, the magnificent overlook on the Lange Voorhout and a lot of natural daylight, this Salon demonstrates that historical characteristics combines perfectly with today’s meeting and technology requirements. Therefore, the Salon is completely in style to receive your guests for a family dinner or our famous High Tea. 

Salon Van Brienen

The Salon is named after the French architect who was in charge of the interior of Hotel Des Indes during the renovations in 2006. 

The stained glass with the Coat of Arms of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague were a gift from the two cities as a sign of solidarity. 

The historic details, plenty of daylight and the comfortable royal chairs make this salon ideal for a lunch, dinner, meeting or creative session.

Salon Jacques Garcia

The Salon is named after Queen Emma. Whom celebrated her 72nd birthday in the hotel in 1931. She was in residence at her palace on the Lange Voorhout, which is currently the Escher Museum. 

This boardroom is ideal for a formal meeting; a marvellous, classic setting with modern amenities. Perfect for the ones who adore a royal ambiance.
