What at first sight only looks like a massive and dark table, turns out the be much more than that. Dirk vander Kooij’s signature room is an ode to the end of an era. The analog era. The room’s centerpiece is the enormous conference table, constructed from obsolete compact disks and records. Some of the most difficult recyclables. But Dirk vander Kooij made the impossible, possible. He made beautiful and robust tables of this so called ‘Modern Fossils.’ Look closer and you’ll read the scribbles and images of their original content. Clean white walls, one huge table.
