Great Hall

The Great Hall, within Devonshire House, is the largest of the University’s venues, seating up to 1,435 delegates theatre style. Containing movable seating within the auditorium and fixed tiered seating in the balcony area, this large space can be adapted for many different uses, from formal theatre style events, through to exhibitions, concerts and gala dinners. With natural daylight, a fixed stage and excellent acoustics the Great Hall is a popular choice for live music events, large plenary sessions, banquets and exhibitions. The foyer area, on the ground floor underneath the Great Hall, is ideal for delegate registration area or a meeting point. The glass-fronted University reception building and Forum Piazza areas work well for arrival drinks – a great place for some pre-event networking and mingling. Directly opposite the Great Hall on the first floor is the Terrace Restaurant, offering a range of hot and cold meals and refreshments during the day. This area can be used as a large dining or bar Space at weekends and evenings.
