The Princess Royal Gallery can hold up to 100 for an event. and boasts spectacular views of both HMS Victory and across Portsmouth Harbour.  Amongst the treasures within the gallery is an original Wyllie painting titled ‘The main yard of HMS Victory being crossed’. In addition, an intelligence briefing map that once hung in Whitehall during the Cold War can be viewed. This magnificent piece of history was once used to track the movements of the enemy and the allies in order for Senior Military Officers to co-ordinate attacks and defences. 

Opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, this venue offers a large flexible space that can accommodate meetings, receptions and dinners, with stunning views across to HMS Victory. The Princess Royal Gallery can be used for both daytime and evening events

National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth Harbour

Explore the fascinating and powerful world of naval warfare at the award-winning Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower. For a more unusual conference venue, or a beautiful dinner space, try exclusive hire of the stunning 18th century Grand Magazine, a gunpowder store originating from 1771. The space boasts a magnificent vaulted ceiling and beautiful Georgian wood floors that could hold up to 4500 barrels of gunpowder in its heyday and supplied HMS Victory for the Battle of Trafalgar. The space can be divided into 2 sections to meet a variety of event needs.


Explosion Museum of the Naval Firepower, Grand Magazine

Climb on-board the largest, fastest and most powerful warship of Queen Victoria’s fleet, HMS Warrior. As soon as you step on-board, the story of the ship will unfold before you. The HMS Warrior is made up of 4 event spaces: Half Deck, Main Gun Deck, Officer’s Wardroom and The Captain’s Cabin. 

Half deck: An evocative space for smaller dinners, the Half Deck separated the space between the crew and where the Captain lived and worked.

Main Gun deck: Guests can dine at the mess tables where the seven hundred sailors used to take their meals, in between the forty guns that made up Warriors single gun deck.

Officers’ Wardroom: Originally the mess for the officers, even the Captain would have to ask permission to enter. The Wardroom table is available for intimate dinners.

Captain’s Cabin: Set like a Victorian drawing room, your guests can luxuriate and dine in the splendour of the Captain’s Cabin, with its rich décor and fine furniture.

The whole ship is available for exclusive hire.

HMS Warrior

The Museum's largest venue room is situated immediately outside the Museum's Swordfish Restaurant.

It has its own vehicular and pedestrian access and is a practical, accessible self-contained, purpose-built building, allowing it to be themed and tailored to the needs of each individual client. 

The Swordfish Centre has its own bar area, toilet facilities, dance floor and a retractable stage making it ideally suited for larger meetings, conferences and trade shows, auctions, wedding receptions and parties.
