Colonel Saab

Colonel Saab sits in the Grade II listed Holborn Town Hall, which first opened as a public library in 1894. Today, apart from a few original features the design and decor of the restaurant compliment the old building with warm colours and stunning chandeliers.

The rooms have large windows allowing for natural daylight, complimentary wi-fi, speakers for background music.

In addition to the restaurant's main space, Colonel Saab offers extraordinary private dining rooms holding up to 60 guests for a reception, featuring decorative depictions of Indian tales from days gone by.

Guests can also dine in or hire the mezzanine which overlooks the main restaurant and provides a great space for an intimate gathering of up to 40 people.

Colonel Saab eschews the artfice of contrived Indian kitsch and instead presents an eclectic décor with consummate elegance and wit.

The Choudharys are great lovers of fine art and this is reflected in the aesthetically sumptuous space they have created, combining the traditional with the progressive; in effect, an extension of Roop Choudhary's own design ethos.

The restaurant is a celebration of Indian food and drink through the eyes of a couple who had the good fortune to travel the length and breadth of an extraordinary country, interact with locals wherever they went, collecting beautiful objects and documenting what they most loved to eat.

With old-style Jazz music, artworks and a modern twist on the flavours and textures of India, Colonel Saab represents a contemporary viewpoint with an old soul, and a nostalgic palate of memories, aromas and flavours
