Our beautiful tranquil Community Garden is a lovely place to take a break during workshops and events. Sit on our patio, wander around our permaculture garden and vegetable beds, or sit quietly by the pond or ‘wishing well’.

The lawn and/or fire pit (now with fire shelter) are also available for hire for a fee, which will include access to the kitchen and toilets.

Firewood can be purchased as part of your hire for an additional fee. A marquee is also available for hire to mitigate against the unpredictable Scottish weather. Last-minute cancellations due to the weather will be charged the full hire fee. If your event cannot go ahead if the weather is bad then we advise that you hire a backup room as well as the garden.

The studio is a spacious, light filled room, overlooking the garden and is suitable for classes such as Dance, Tai Chi or Yoga, as well as events and parties for up to forty people. It has windows on either side of the room, and there is a platform/small stage in the bay window. It is often used as a teaching space.

Access is by a single flight of stairs.

The walls are painted white, the ceiling is a mottled blue and white, the floor is sanded, and there is adjustable lighting, all making for a serene and peaceful place.  

We have a supply of yoga mats, and meditation cushions, stools and zafus. In addition, there are two large carpets which can be rolled out to give the room a cosy feel.  There is also a sink with hot and cold water in one corner, and a plentiful supply of chairs and tables. The room can hold events of up to 55 people.

A projector, screen and loudspeakers are available to hire upon request.

The Studio

The Salisbury Centre

This is a welcoming room located on the ground floor, with an extensive bay window offering a beautiful view of the garden. With the walls lined with books belonging to the extensive Salisbury Centre library, visitors are welcome to enjoy the space, have a read, and borrow books, with a request to return them when they have finished with them. This room now also includes our seed library. 

The seating consists of a round table with five chairs, and a bay window edged by window seats overlooking the garden. It is a sunny, attractive room with a sanded floor and is lit by standard lamps and ceiling lights.

The room is often used for meetings, and groups, and will take up to fifteen people (18.9ft x 15.8ft).

Library

The Art Room is a light and airy space on the ground floor of the Centre with outdoor access both from the street and into the rear garden. (Some of you may know this room from when it was “The Pottery.”)

This versatile room has wooden floors and is equipped with carpets which can be rolled out, chairs, cushions, blankets, and yoga mats.  The space can be used for a wide variety of activities and can hold 30 people seated.

It is the only room at the Centre with direct access to the garden. The Art Room also has some storage space available to hire upon request to the office

Art Room

Situated on the ground floor, the Wellspring room has a window to the front garden.

Like the other rooms in the building, it is painted white, carpeted, and has a quiet and serene feel to it.

It can accommodate up to ten people and is used as a meditation space, therapy room, or small group meetings.
