Behind the stunning façade of our Grade-I listed building, find this hidden gem, which has been reinvented by Searcys into a champagne and wine bar, offering an array of fizz, including one of the largest selections of magnums in London, alongside creative cocktails, British bar bites and a roster of events.

the bar, two private annexes 
provide an ideal setting for 
drinks receptions, private 
dining, and networking 
events. These spaces can be 
combined to accommodate 
up to 50 guests standing 
or kept separate for more

The Carlton Room on the ground floor used to be the smoking room of the United Service Club. Able to hold 150 seated, 120 dinner dance, 200 reception. 

It is adorned with many rich decorative features including the dramatic Ionic columns in the centre of the room. These are finished in scagliola; a skillful plaster treatment designed to imitate marble and add to the splendour in the room. The walls are also covered by gold leaf on linen; a very expensive and delicate treatment enriching the overall impression of opulence.

The south facing doors open onto a private terrace with views across the garden. 

The room is perfect for large dinners, receptions and weddings.

The Academy 

Once the wine cellars of the Prince of Wales and the United Service Club, guests enter the hidden underground Champagne Bar through a pair of stunning iron gates that served as the original cellar doors. With vaulted ceilings and exposed brickwork, the space is full of unique original features and packed with character.
While this space operates as a Champagne Bar during the day and evenings, located at the side of the bar are two separate annexes which provide the ideal setting for drinks receptions, private dining, and networking events. These can be opened out into one space allowing for 48 seated guests or closed off to create two separate spaces for 24 seated guests. 
The entire bar can also be hired privately on evenings and weekends for up to 160 standing and is always a popular choice for wedding after-parties or birthday celebration.

The Champagne Bar 

**Hire Nash Room at 116 Pall Mall, a bright room ideal for social functions and corporate events in London**


This bright and airy room is the grandest function room in the building. Spanning 3000 sq ft (278 sq m) with 20 ft ceilings it has that wow factor. Suitable for all types of business and social functions, exhibitions, AGM's, dinners, press launches and wine tastings. Multiple screen and staging setups available, natural daylight and breakout rooms. Named after the fashionable 19th century architect John Nash, who designed the building in the 1820's. With seating capacity up to 250 guests on round tables, stunning setting for long table seating 90. Wedding license. Dance Floor, DJ and music.

The Burton Room is extremely popular for daytime functions. With the added versatility of being offered in conjunction with two adjacent breakout rooms. This stunning setting is well suited to seminars, talks and networking events. 

A classically striking room that offers a blank canvas for entertaining, licensed for wedding ceremonies. 

With golden accents and ornate lighting fixtures. This Space provides elegant surroundings for any occasion.

This is also an advantageous Space for lunches and dinners. Allowing Guests a well-lit venue to socialise and discuss the details of their company event.

The Burton Room 

Café Duke was created from the original washrooms for officers of the United Service Club. Unique, quirky and filled with original features, it has served as a filming location for blockbuster Batman movie The Dark Knight and the award-winning TV drama Downton Abbey. With original tiled walls, floors and beautiful ceiling arches, the room has striking architecture to wow your guests. 


If you are looking to hire an unusual venue to hold a dinner, networking event or drinks reception, Cafe Duke is the ideal setting. Often hired by clients as a space for drinks and socialising after a wedding or event upstairs, the room comes alive with a DJ and lighting, and also features it’s own permanent bar and serving area.

The St. James suite of rooms, with their large sash windows overlooking Pall Mall are ideal for smaller functions needing more intimate surroundings. They are also interlinking, which means that you have the option of opening them up or using one as a breakout or catering room. 

Equipped with stationery, flip-charts, whiteboards and filming facilities, the St. James Rooms are fully functioning for an array of events. Whether you require smaller rooms for intimate dinners and board meetings, or a large Space to host breakfast meetings and seminars, this Space can cater to your every need. 

If a corporate event is not what you're seeking, this beautiful Space also comes equipped with a late alcohol license and late access, presenting Guests with the option to host parties and other social events.

The St. James Rooms 

The Morning & Spears has played host to a MasterChef semi-final, as well as a variety of brilliant business events and once-in-a-lifetime family celebrations. Welcoming groups of four to 80 in a dining arrangement, this bright, airy space overlooking Waterloo Place is an inviting spot to dine and watch the world go by.

Located directly below the Grand Staircase with a glittering 15ft chandelier hanging high above, this space is in a prime spot within 116 Pall Mall with a neutral colour palette and bright, dual-aspect windows, the Morning Room is popular for private dining and celebrations. The Spears Room adjoins the Morning and provides the ideal break-out or catering space, or hire this separately for 24 seated guests.
