Our heated Garden Terrace offers a relaxed, open-air setting ideal for informal functions, networking evenings, and social celebrations. Accommodating up to 70 guests standing and partially seated, this vibrant space features its own private bar and covered areas for comfort year-round. The terrace combines casual charm with the signature Searsons atmosphere—perfect for summer parties, after-work drinks, and laid-back gatherings in the heart of Dublin 4.

Our private snug can be booked for smaller groups of 20 people and would be best accommodated to suit groups for Whiskey tastings or platters. 

The Irish Pub Snug: A Cozy Corner with a Rich History
In the heart of traditional Irish pubs lies the "snug" - a small, private room or compartment, typically situated near the bar and separated by partitions. Emerging in the late 19th century during the Victorian era, snugs provided a discreet space for patrons who preferred privacy while enjoying their drinks. This included women, who, due to prevailing social norms, were often discouraged from drinking openly in public bars. The snug allowed them and others seeking seclusion to partake in pub culture away from prying eyes. 
Beyond offering privacy to women, snugs became havens for various individuals: clergy members seeking a quiet drink, local police officers desiring discretion and even couples looking for a secluded rendezvous. These spaces were typically equipped with a small hatch or window through which bartenders could serve drinks, ensuring minimal exposure. 
While modernization and changing social attitudes have led to the decline of traditional snugs, some historic pubs still retain these charming features. Establishments like ours still retain snugs and offer patrons a glimpse into this unique aspect of Irish pub heritage.
