Moorgate, London

“Bar” wouldn’t be the right word to describe the Black Rock as it’s essentially a spot that has the vibe of a sleek subterranean drinking hole. The most striking part of Black Rock is the large 185 year-old oak tree, laid on its end, split it in half, and turned it into a gigantic whisky-filled table.

The trunk has been cut into two channels, covered with glass, and filled with 17 litres of whisky cocktails that age as they're stored, before being delivered straight into your glass via taps at the trunk's end.

Open from Monday to Saturday, Black Rock is the place to be for any occasion. So sit back and enjoy your glass of Cherry River because let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to drink from a tree trunk, right?

How to hire a bar in Moorgate

We know that finding a venue the old-fashioned way (where you trawl the internet, contact 10 venues or set your heart on one, only to find that they're out of your price range and not even available on your dates) is a pain, and there are a few pitfalls between you and booking your perfect bar. Getting the venue-finding process down to a professional art is what we’ve made our mission ever since we took on the events industry. We often get asked the same questions, so here's what we recommend to quickly and easily hire a space in Moorgate.

For bars in Moorgate, you're spoilt for choice. Here are a few extra special ones that we vouch for:

Fox Fine Wines & Spirits - This venue provides a calm and chic vibe with blue walls and leather seats, which is a perfect atmosphere to enjoy wine and cheese with friends or coworkers.

City Arts Bar - Looking for a relaxed bar to unwind after a long work day? This design-led bar serves up late-night drinks, live music, and private dining in a dimly lit atmosphere.

There really is no one answer to this question: so many variables come into play when understanding the cost of exclusive hire of a bar or a private space in a bar. How many guests are you planning for? Is the venue for the day, an afternoon, or the night? The good news is that you can find a venue for pretty much any budget (okay, almost any budget). Instead of letting the venue dictate the price, our advice is to be proactive and set a budget that you feel comfortable with – this way the right venues can reach out to you through HeadBox.

There are lots of ways to book a bar in Moorgate. You can do the old-fashioned thing and pick up the phone, or email the venue directly.
