The Russell Ladies, the previous residents of 2 Audley Square, were celebrated for their Drawing Room gatherings — described by contemporaries as offering “some of the best talk and pleasantest evenings the London world had to offer.” That tradition of warmth and good company endures. The Drawing Room retains its original fireplace and is decorated with exquisite hand-painted Chinoiserie wall panels by artist Lucy Makin. A grand piano stands at one end; tall windows overlook our secluded terrace garden. Light fills the room throughout the day, making it as inviting for an afternoon tea as for an evening recital. Located on the first floor directly opposite the Library, the Drawing Room seats up to 60 guests and can accommodate up to 100 when the two rooms are combined. It is licensed for civil ceremonies and has hosted elegant lunches, afternoon teas, musical evenings, parties, and wedding breakfasts. It is, in short, one of those rooms that makes every occasion feel like a special one. Our events team will work with you to design the ideal layout and, together with our in-house kitchen, create a menu built around fresh, seasonal produce.
