The Dining Room has a capacity of up to 200 Reception, perfect for celebrations, drinks receptions, corporate parties, birthdays and weddings. The room, with its perfectly preserved Victorian architecture, makes the perfect backdrop for any event and has even been featured in many international blockbusters and series including The Crown and Downton Abbey.

Please note this room is only available to hire on weekends.

Natural Light

Elegant and ornate, the Lady Violet room is an oasis of calm, with plenty of natural light, decorative corners and period features. its charming cruciform layout provides the ideal backdrop for all manner of events and special occasions.

The space is highly adaptable and can be dressed to cater for a wide range of functions and group sizes of up to 70 people, whether it be a smaller business meeting, an intimate private dinner for a few guests or something more significant like a book launch or public talk for over 50 people.

The Lady Violet room can adaptably offer Business-grade equipment, such as a projector screen, audio system and microphones for any style of event.

In addition to our Lady Violet Room, we also offer the Smoking Room as a pre-event reception space at an exclusive rate of £275 for the hour.

The Lady Violet Room 

National Liberal Club

The Smoking room is one of the most impressive rooms at the National Liberal Club. The supremely elegant room, framed by its tile columns, has two large adaptable spaces at either end; One of which makes the perfect location for wedding ceremonies and receptions of up to 150 people. In the evening, the room converts neatly to accommodate a dance floor, providing space for entertainment and socialising.

The other end, with its cosy fireplace, luxurious button-back sofas and traditional furniture is ideal for private buffet lunches (capacity of up to 100 people), pre-dinner drink receptions and general socialising and networking during conferences and larger meetings.

Please note that as we are an active club, this space is only available to hire on weekends.


The Smoking Room 

Unique in London as the largest private Terrace in the city, the National Liberal Club's magnificent terrace overlooks Embankment Gardens and the River Thames with views towards the London Eye and Southbank. 

Sheltered by enormous trees, which not only provide welcome shade but also reduce traffic noise, the terrace is large enough to seat up to 100 people or host 150 standing receptions and offers a picturesque backdrop for outdoor events such as barbecues, drinks receptions and summer parties.

The largest of the Club’s function rooms, the David Lloyd George Room features a grand piano once played by Rachmaninov, set against a backdrop of perfectly preserved Victorian architecture.

Seating up to 120 people for formal dinners and up to 200 for a standing reception, this room is extremely adaptable. It can be set up in a myriad of ways to suit various functions such as boardrooms, lectures or launch events.

In addition to our David Lloyd George room, our Smoking Room can be offered as a pre-event reception space for the additional price of £250 for the hour.
