The best Christmas party venues in Manchester
We have a lot to thank Manchester for.
Nuclear fission. Industrial revolution. Free public libraries in the UK. Corrie. Modern computer science. Professional football leagues. Quidditch. Music – looking at you, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Oasis, Take That, and M People.
The city’s Christmas party venues are nothing to sniff at, either. From historic halls to bustling bars, Manchester has a ton of trusted venues sure to make you jollier than a certain someone.
Anyway, moving on (up), here are some of the best Christmas party venues in Manchester.

1. End the year on a high at this Manchester Christmas party venue: South Terrace and Lounge, King Street Townhouse
Manchester
In a sense, ending the (work) year on a high on a roof terrace feels a little poetic and like the stuff of fiction.
It is what you’ll find at the centrally-located King Street Townhouse, though. Up on the 6th floor is the South Terrace and Lounge. With its cosy chairs and a roaring fire, get ready to feel like you’re in a Nancy Meyers film (you know, if The Holiday was set in Manchester).
Step onto the roof terrace for views of the city, with Manchester Town Hall staring right back at you. Wait till night for the city to really shine. As it’s heated, that’s one less wardrobe struggle to think about.
Grab a drink. Think back on your wins with the city at your fingers. Cheers.
2. Get your festive tunes ready at this Christmas party venue: The Loft, Revolution Manchester
Manchester
“I-I-I don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need” What’s a Christmas party without a little (okay, a lot) of karaoke?
Just off the corner of Oxford Road, is one of the city’s three Revolution bars. Their private room, The Loft, has its own bar, stage, and lighting ready to go and with room for up to 200 people, we’d say more than enough to get a conga line going.
There’s not much else to say but make some room on the dance floor for us.
3. Think pink this Christmas at this Manchester party venue: Walrus
Manchester
Right in the heart of Northern Quarter, is Walrus, a cocktail bar (and Christmas party venue) that is just as quirky as its name.
Take in the strawberry milk-esque booths and stools, the walrus head (because obviously there’d be a walrus head), the copper light fixtures, the art, and the industrial-like bar. Then chat, drink, and dance for a Christmas do to remember.
It’s looking like things will be a little different this year. Let’s just hope your Christmas party is on a Wednesday.
4. The best Christmas party venue for something a little different: The Old Fayre, Flight Club Manchester
Manchester
Step right up! Step right up – which brave soul dares to challenge The Board?
Jokes aside, The Old Fayre at Flight Club Manchester is a pretty cool Christmas party venue – and one that brings a new meaning to playful.
Walk into The Old Fayre and you’ll see what we mean. From the mahogany furniture, and rings of light to the carousel horse and the ripped wallpaper (which is interesting, to say the least) set the tone that you’ve just discovered an abandoned fairground.
Now onto the game. It’s pretty simple, play a game of darts, keep the drinks flowing and the competition going. In between plays, take your pick of drink – it is a Christmas party after all.
3,2, 1…Bullseye!
5. The top Christmas venue for a grand party: Albert Hall Manchester
Manchester
Go big, or go home, that’s what we say.
Luckily Albert Hall has taken this to heart. In what used to be a Wesleyan Chapel, you’ll find this Manchester Christmas party venue in all its (former) celestial glory.
The stained glass windows and high ceilings are certainly grand and dare we say, heavenly.
It’s obvious why it’s one of the most popular concert venues, but this night, there are no musical artists (unless you have something up your sleeve) just you, up to 300 other guests (or 1800 if you’re standing), and a food and drinks menu to be proud of.
It is the most wonderful time of the year, after all.

How to Hire Christmas Party Venues in Manchester
Manchester is awash with spaces ready to host the Christmas party of your dreams. Securing one may seem like a mission, but follow these tips and thank us later.
What Christmas are you dreaming of?
The beauty of planning a Christmas party in Manchester is that you have complete control over what kind of event you want. From festive banquets fit for a Tudor king to office work parties that will be remembered (hazily) for years, there are plenty of options for the kind of Christmas party you might want.
Budgeting for a Manchester Christmas party
Nothing says Christmas quite like a Scrooge-like grip on your finances. Okay, so budgeting might not exactly be in the spirit of silly season, but a crucial part of party planning is getting your spending watertight so there are no unpleasant Boxing Day surprises. Consider whether your Christmas party is a liquid lunch affair or a full festive banquet. It's a good idea to allocate a dedicated spend per person, that way you can maintain control over the macro and micro costs of your event.
Skis, sleighs and snow boots
Getting to and from your Manchester Christmas party shouldn't be a miserly experience. Fortunately, Manchester boasts a fantastic transport system that can get you and your friends or colleagues to and from whatever venue you decide to book. For those coming outside the capital, locate your Christmas bash near a main station, reducing the travel time for inbound guests. The only downside to a Manchester Christmas party is the probable lack of parking – Manchester's busy boroughs are often unforgiving when it comes to spaces, but who wants to drive into their Christmas event, anyway?
Simply, the earlier the better. Now, we’re not saying you need to wake up groggily on the 26th of December and start drafting a secret Santa employee map (unless you really want to). But the truth is the best Manchester Christmas party venues will start to take bookings well before the festive season starts in earnest: we recommend starting your search towards the end of summer, no matter how wrong it feels, and that way you’ll ensure you’re on the venue-booking good list.
Towards the lower end of the budget, you can expect some drinks and finger foods – think sausage rolls and carrot sticks. Let’s be honest, though, most Manchester Christmas party venues can do better than that, and you deserve better. Ask the venue if they have a festive menu – lots of venues will get creative with their festive bites, and it can really make your Xmas bash stand out. Top tip: Don’t forget to ask about the entertainment involved in the Christmas package. Long gone are the days of the depressing Christmas DJ (almost always someone’s uncle), and now you can expect a lot more when it comes to getting the party truly started.
The all-important question. The importance of the Christmas party can often feel like a mammoth task. Fortunately, most venues will do a lot of the heavy lifting and offer packages and planning assistance. That said, there is a way to get exactly what you want and not spend all your time mired by the details. Just tell us exactly what your perfect Christmas party looks like, and we’ll make sure the best Manchester venues reach out to you. That way, you can focus on the important things, like mince pies.
There really is no one answer to this question: so many variables come into play when understanding the cost of hiring Christmas party venue. How many guests are you planning for? Is the venue for the day, an afternoon or an evening? Are you looking for food or activities? What about decorations? The good news is that you can find a venue for pretty much any budget (okay, almost any budget). Instead of letting the venue dictate the price, our advice is to be proactive and set a budget that you feel comfortable with – this way the right venues can reach out to you through HeadBox.
Manchester is blessed with a host of amazing venues to hold you Christmas party in.
