THE BASEMENT AT DOWNTEX MILL The Basement combines Manchester’s industrial heritage with a distinctive contemporary event setting. Exposed brickwork and a minimal industrial finish sit alongside a custom-built bar, bespoke DJ booth and customisable lighting, providing a characterful backdrop for productions and events. Downtex Mill is a former textile mill and the home of Hidden, within walking distance of Manchester Victoria station. THE SPACE The Basement has a standing capacity of up to 350 guests and an advertised floor area of approximately 72 sq m. Its bar, booth and lighting give the room a strong visual identity for music videos, film and TV shoots, commercial photography, performances, brand activations and private events. Any seated layout or production-specific capacity should be discussed for the proposed brief. Equipment and staffing requirements are agreed separately. HIRE RATES AND MINIMUM BOOKING Standard room hire is £150 per hour plus VAT. A minimum booking fee of £1,500 plus VAT applies, equivalent to a 10-hour day. Bookings of fewer than 10 hours can be accepted at the same minimum fee. For longer bookings, additional time is charged at the applicable hourly rate. This listing is for this room; additional spaces and exclusive whole-venue hire are quoted separately. ACCESS AND PRODUCTION A site representative is required for every booking. There is no lift, so please discuss equipment dimensions, load-in and any accessibility requirements before booking. There is parking for 6–8 cars on site, with free street parking nearby. Availability and access arrangements must be agreed for your booking. ADDITIONAL SUPPORT Film and event production support can be arranged for an additional fee, including camera, lighting and sound equipment, crew, staging, props, furniture, seating and catering.
