Calling all aspiring supermodels. Located in Digbeth’s Custard Factory, this photography studio is a former warehouse and church. The architecture is clear – from the high ceilings and natural light, it’s ideal for you to get all the best angles. With the total building being a huge 80,000 square feet, you have plenty of choice as to where to shoot.

Open every day, Fazeley Studios can fit up to 300 people standing, and it’s also it’s just a 10-minute walk from Birmingham New Street Station.

We’re not straying far from the Custard Factory with this next Birmingham photography studio. Introducing Factory Works — an industrial 1200 square metre space. Fitting up to 600 people standing, this venue is one to consider if you have a large cast or crew.

The best thing about Factory Works has to be its rich history. Previously the loading docks for the Custard Factory, it’s managed to keep its former charm a la chipped white walls and high ceiling beams.

All things considered, this photography studio is basically a blank canvas – and with three extra rooms as well as a cloakroom, getting set up (and avoiding clutter) has never been easier. Perfect.

4. A Birmingham photography studio to hire for its flexibility: One Zero One

This Birmingham photography studio is the king of versatility. Located on Pershore Street, One Zero One has not just one, but two studios.

The first studio can fit up to 50 standing guests and is open every day. Choose from a number of different backdrops – whether that’s a white wall (pre-lit with DMX lighting), with the measurements of 6m x 5m x 5m, a green screen (10m x 6m x 5m) with DMX controllable lighting, a black wall or a daylight space.

You might have heard of Crane as one of Digbeth’s newest party venues, but did you know that you can hire it out as a photography studio?

Built in 1909, Crane is only one of 3 surviving retort houses in Birmingham. With its exposed metal beams and brick walls, chipped paint and distressed grey floors, this photography studio certainly leans into its industrial history.
