1. Farringdon’s disco themed cocktail bar : Simmons Farringdon
Just a few minute's walk from the Farringdon Tube Station stands Simmons Bar, part of the popular Simmons chain that seems to be mushrooming locations everywhere across London ( Number 26 opens its doors in November ).
The slightly dark, underground interiors are illuminated with warm neon lights that complement the venue’s disco theme. The music ranges from EDM and hip-hop to hits from the 80s and good old party bangers. A combination of high stools and comfy banquette seating running around the venue ensures that there's ample space to grab a breather in between the dancing and drinking.
With their “Cocktails, Dreams and Disco`’ tagline, it is no surprise that Simmons takes their cocktails very seriously. Look no further than their trademark Cocktail Teapots.
The venue is available for private hire and can accommodate 120 people ( standing ). The DJ booth is downstairs but you can hire your favourite DJ to play at your party - the equipment is all set.
2. The Farringdon cocktail bar that blends games with cocktails : 1920 Bar
What’s better than getting a drink with your friends? Getting a drink with your friends while playing a game. And at the 1920 Bar, with its multiple pool tables, dart machines and foosball tables that can be booked, games are at the heart of operations.
The interiors are modelled on the traditional American pool hall but with a dark, funky, graffitied twist. The menu is also heavily American-influenced, offering comfort food classics like burgers, hotdogs, nachos and a lot more. Coming to the cocktails, 1920 has a decent-sized offering. The bar gets its name from the 19-20 Great Sutton Street where it is situated and is a two-minute walk from Farringdon and Barbican tube stations.
