Our favourite Peckham bars

A little shopfront looking as funky as its name in its retro typeface above the door. Fukidory is a sweet little Peckham bar, vinyl record and bottle shop specialising in cocktails, natural wine, and music of the Funk, Disco, Hip-Hop, and Soul variety. The cocktails are some of the best you’ll find in Peckham, but the tunes alone should lure you in. It’s cool, it’s casual, it’s all hunky-dory. Find Funkidory on Peckham Rye about 5-minute walk south of the station.

You can find Jumbi in a brick warehouse right near Peckham Rye station. At the heart of Jumbi is a wall of vinyl records and speakers, just as it should be – Jumbi is a listening bar with a bangin’ sound system. But also at its heart are the sounds and flavours celebrating the African-Caribbean diaspora.

Why do we love it? DJ Bradley Zero’s wall of records, of course, and the overall vibe under a giant disco ball and hanging plants. We want for nothing else at this Peckham bar and neither will you.

The White Horse, about a five-ish minute walk south of Peckham Rye station, is a no-frills boozer that’s been a public house since the early 19th century, although the beer garden is a little more on the frills side – that is to say, it’s lovely. And it probably has one too many potted plants to be an old-school boozer, but we don’t think the added greenery is a bad thing.

A drink for everybody, Sunday Roasts, and DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays, but what we love about this Peckham bar is that it’s the best place to meet pals for a casual drink and a game of pool without any of the judge-y side-eye from waiting players.

We love the Omni bar & kitchen because we can get our fix of natural wines and share top-tier plant-based small plates with our pals. Located near Peckham Rye Park, we appreciate Omni’s commitment to sustainability and good flavours. The place is cosy, relaxed, and casual.

This is the kind of place where we order wine by the bottle rather than the glass and it’s always worth it. Its wine list is comprised of unique natural wines, sourced from small independent producers across Europe, all of which perfectly complement the flavours of Omni’s seasonal menu. Forza Wine is at The Rooftop at 133A Rye Lane, just across from Peckham Rye station. Self-described as the ‘younger, taller, better-looking sibling of Forza Win’, this Peckham rooftop bar went in for minimalism in the design and decor so that you could take in the rooftop views of the city, drinking aperitivi, signature cocktails, and wines.

Simplicity and doing simple perfectly are what Forza Wine is all about. We go for the view and stay for the wine, cocktails, and bar snacks that pair so well with wine and cocktails.

Tola is a rooftop Peckham bar but with an intimate feeling. We head here for two things: cocktails and tunes – it highlights the best of London's sound system culture and underground dance culture on weekends.

Tola keeps it simple with rustic walls, industrial light fixtures, and the requisite amount of potted plants one expects from any southeast London establishment. The cocktails are great and we’re into the more cosy vibe of its rooftop terrace.

The Garden Room is available for private hire for up to 25 seated or 50 standing. It opens onto the terrace and comes with direct access to the dancefloor and a private bar open till 4 a.m.
