1. Traditional Christmas dining for the meat lovers: Quality Chop House
Clerkenwell
This iconic British restaurant has been around since 1869. It may not be as old as Father Christmas (how old is he, anyway?) but it's holds a lot of wisdom. Particularly when it comes to meats – they work with British suppliers to find the best meats in the country, and stay true to London's Chophouse tradition. The interiors harken back to the founding, with Grade II-listed benches, checkered floors, and chalkboards for daily specials, while still remaining contemporary and comfortable.
Quality Chop House's private dining room is the restaurant's hidden gem. From November, they offer a festive feasting menu to share at £90pp. Sample dishes include belted Galloway beef, short rib croquettes, and, obviously, mince pie to finish.
